BLACK CAT 30 - TONEX

This XR ToneX pack was captured from our Bad Cat Black Cat 30 1x12 with Custom Celestion speaker. This Mark Sampson, 30 watt modded Black Cat is one of the smoothest EL84 tube amps. It has a round low end, smooth and forward mid range, and warm top end character.  The newer Bad Cat's have a unique character to them. They have a smooth mid range and almost sound as if the "self attenuate" the high mids causing the clean tone and breakup character to always remain smooth. They can take a ton of pedal drive and never get harsh.

 

This pack offers extremely accurate tones when compared to the real-life amp. We captured the entire gain range of this amp at all of the key points where it’s breakup, drive, and compression characteristics shift. The level of breakup/gain is represented by the number in the capture name:

Clean (1), Edge of Breakup (2), Breakup (3), Driven (4), Driven + (5), Driven ++ (6).
