CUB V - TONEX

This XR ToneX pack was captured from our Bad Cat Cub V 1x12 with Custom Celestion speaker. Set to the EF86 Preamp tube, this 40 watt amp offers a warm and fuzzy low mid breakup character with a chimey top end. The newer Bad Cat's have a unique character to them. They have a smooth mid range and almost sound as if the "self attenuate" the high mids causing the clean tone and breakup character to always remain smooth. They can take a ton of pedal drive and never get harsh.

 

This pack offers extremely accurate tones when compared to the real-life amp. We captured the entire gain range of this amp at all of the key points where it’s breakup, drive, and compression characteristics shift. The level of breakup/gain is represented by the number in the capture name:

Clean (1), Edge of Breakup (2), Breakup (3), Driven (4), Driven + (5), Driven ++ (6).
